LO's Department for EU- and International Affairs sees to LO-Denmark's priorities in terms of monitoring and influencing developments abroad, and in the EU in particular. LO is represented in a number of European and international organisations and in a wide range of national-level committees dealing with international affairs.  

We are located in LO's Headquarters in Copenhagen and two of our Advisers alternate representation in our Brussels Office. 

A member of the ETUC and the ITUC, LO works closely with its European colleagues and maintains cooperation with the relevant Danish MEP's, the Danish Permanent Representation and other stakeholders on the European scene.

Preben Foldberg Head of LO's Brussels'Office                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Areas of responsibility: The internal market, competitiveness and employee participation. 
Day-to-day contact with the ETUC and other trade union Brussels' offices, Contact with the Office of the Confederation of Danish Employers (DA) and other labour market and EU-representations. Monitors the work in the EU-institutions.

Represents LO in:  the ETUC's Executive Committee and the ETUC-committee on collective bargaining, the EU-committee on Social Dialogue, the EESC, the NFS committee on European policy and the restructuring forum as well as the Advisory Committee for the EU's structural funds and many more.

Areas of responsibility: Adviser in EU Affairs with the focus on growth and employment, EU 2020, the Euro Plus Pact, innovation, contact with the relevant MEP's and monitoring of developments in the European institutions.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Areas of responsibility include: Coordination and development of LO's EU-policy, overall trade policy and labour policy - with spefic focus on initiatives that risk causing or increasing social dumping.
